James,,, you only hi-lite what i’m saying “ ebay is slowly eliminating small sellers”
ebay is basically saying;;; “ hey”,,, “thanks for getting us to the top,,, but we really don’t need you anymore”…
i have been in the flea market for 30 years,,, “i’ve done a-lot of scratching in those 30 years”,,, (lol,,, just a quick funny),,,
anyway,,, half of flea market sales are with other flea marketers,,, that’s 50% of the game,,,
so,,, as the small sellers go,,, so do the traders and/or buyers,,, no rocket science here,,, it’s just the way it is…it’s not a question of affordability,,, tis more a question of fair business practice,,,
ebay has always maintained that it is a venue,,, not an broker or retail outlet…but their percent of charges and practices placed on sellers are matching retail outlet practices and percents,,,
and the great thing about it for them,,, they do not pay 90% of their work force “the sellers”indeed it is greedbay and pigpal,,, but this is the way of the world now,,, profits come first,,,
no-matter the cost and whom you may squash…yes we are in a slow economy,,, so it make’s perfect sense for ebay to shove more fees in their system,,,
it is the consumer who pays in the end… little bit of sarcasm,,, no harm meant…

Yeah, the smaller sellers could also use the free CraigsList but beware of all the scams there. Fun to look at sometimes however as there are some deals to be had.
I really miss the “flea markets” for all the good times with other sellers and customers also. I sold at Traders Village in Houston for about 2 or 3 years and it was lots of fun then. Late ’80′s. Old Dodge van and lots of totes full of junk. Set it all up on Sat morning and tear it all down on Sunday night. Take the $ to Harwin on Monday and spend it.
